Music Production Course for Kids

01

Overview

This 8-session course is designed for school kids aged 9 and above who are curious about music and want to learn how to actually make it, from scratch, on a computer, like the pros do.
Using Ableton Live Intro as our creative tool, young learners will explore beats, melodies, sounds, and song-building, one session at a time. Every concept is taught in a fun, hands-on way that feels more like creative play than a music class.
The course builds towards one exciting goal: every student walks away with a finished original track that they'll perform at a closing Student Recital on Day 9, their first-ever moment as a music producer.

FAQ's

Can my child really make a song in 8 sessions?

Yes, and that's exactly the point. Every session is designed to move your child step by step towards a finished original track. By Day 9, our Recital, every student presents their completed piece to the group. It may not sound like a chart-topping hit on Day 1, but by the end, it'll be something they made, and something they'll be genuinely proud of.

Does my child need any musical background?

Not at all. We start from zero, no notes, no theory required. Kids with some musical experience (piano, singing, etc.) will find a few things easier, but complete beginners thrive in this course. The focus is on making music, not memorising music theory.

What software will they use?

Ableton Live Intro 12, a professional-grade DAW that's used by producers all over the world, simplified into a beginner-friendly experience. Your child will receive a permanent, full license as part of their enrollment.

Is the Ableton license permanent?

Yes. It's theirs to keep forever, so they can keep producing music long after the course ends

Will someone help set up the software before the course starts?

Absolutely. We provide a complete setup guide and are available to help troubleshoot before Session 1 so your child is ready to go from Day 1.

What age is this course best suited for?

We've designed this course for kids aged 9 and above.
Younger students (9-11) may need a little support from a parent in the early sessions as they get comfortable with the software. Students 12 and above generally navigate everything independently.

How is this different from a YouTube tutorial?

YouTube is great for scattered tips, but it can't give your child structure, live feedback, a mentor who listens to their music, or a group that cheers them on. This course gives them all of that, plus a real deadline and a real performance at the end. That's what turns learning into doing.

Is this course taught live or pre-recorded?

All sessions are live and interactive on Zoom. Your child can ask questions, share their screen, and get real-time feedback from their mentor.

What kind of track will my child produce?

An original track, their own beats, their own melody, their own arrangement, made from scratch using Ableton Live. We lean towards contemporary, accessible genres (think pop-influenced electronic music) so the music feels current and fun to make.

What language are sessions conducted in?

Sessions are in English, with Hindi support wherever needed, so every child feels comfortable and can fully follow along.

Will my child get individual attention?

Yes. Our small group size is intentional, and it means every child gets direct mentor interaction, not just a passive viewing experience. Mentors give individual feedback during sessions, and one-on-one support is available after the course for students who want personalised guidance.

What do I need to buy before the course starts?

Just a laptop and headphones. Everything else, software, materials, and resources, is included in the course fee. Optional equipment upgrades (like a MIDI keyboard) can be explored later, but are not needed to complete the course or produce a great track.

Is this suitable for kids who already play an instrument?

100%. If your child already plays piano, guitar, or sings, this course will show them an entirely new dimension of music-making. Their existing musical instincts will give them a natural head start.

What happens after the course is over?

Your child walks away with a finished track, a permanent software license, their student materials, and a Course Completion Certificate. From there, they can continue exploring independently, join our advanced courses as they develop, or keep growing within the ASA ecosystem.
